Social conflict or group conflict occurs when two or more actors oppose each other in social interaction (google page) - I feel that social conflict see's the social life just as a competition -Where ever you go what ever you do there is always going to be social conflict. Everyday there will be a new social conflict on the rise for example all of the global issues that America gets involved with. 2. Structural Functional Definition : Structural Functionalism is a sociological theory that attempts to explain why society functions the way it does by focusing on the relationships between the various social institutions that make up society (google page)
****BLOG POST **** NOVEMBER 7TH . 2014 KAY AND SHIPMAN AND VALENTI WHO IS MORE OF A SOCIOLOGIST ?? After reading these great sociology posts I thought..What makes being a sociologist so great? I think a sociologists’ thoughts and ideas are valued are what make a sociologists minds precise. They also have a good deal of respect. I think that I'm going to have to side with Valenti and say that she is more of a sociologist. I say this because of this "But the "confidence gap" is not a personal defect as much as it is a reflection of a culture that gives women no reason to feel self-assured." I defiantly agree with this statement. The american society are going to view all different women all differently. The truth is, if you're not insecure, you're not paying attention. When she said that It didn't make sense to me at first but then I found it quite interesting. -B
